How to ventilate glass greenhouses more effectively is very important. Especially for glass greenhouses in southern China, energy consumption in production is mainly consumed by cooling in summer. It does not require ventilation and exhaust mechanical equipment required for mechanical ventilation, so it also saves operating costs. Therefore, when conditions permit, it should be used first.
Of course, a good ventilation system should satisfy: good ventilation capacity, reasonable indoor airflow distribution, and the ventilation system can easily adjust the ventilation volume. The ventilation capacity is reflected in the size of the ventilation power and the size of the ventilation area. For natural ventilation, it is required to arrange the air inlet and outlet of the greenhouse respectively at the lowest and highest point of the greenhouse, which can increase the thermal pressure difference and improve the driving force of ventilation.
For the mechanical ventilation of the glass greenhouse, the choice of high-power fans and double forced ventilation of intake and exhaust can increase the ventilation. The ventilation area is actually the area of the ventilation window. The larger the area, the better the ventilation effect. However, the large area increases the cost and operating cost of the window opening mechanism. In addition, the ventilation windows should be set as much as possible so that the airflow direction of wind pressure ventilation and hot pressure ventilation is the same, such as making the skylight exhaust direction in the downwind direction of the local prevailing wind direction.
The practice has proved that the ventilation capacity of the movable roof glass greenhouse can reach the same temperature as the outdoor. If it is matched with the shading system, the indoor temperature can even be lowered below the ambient temperature in areas with strong solar radiation. To improve the effect of ventilation and cooling, large-scale greenhouses should also use wet curtains or spray humidification and cooling facilities. Of course, these advanced systems will increase investment and operating costs, and whether to adopt them should be decided after a technical and economic comparison.
